Privacy Policy — Frailty Tool
This policy explains how the Frailty Tool app handles information. The app is published by Dr. Jonathan Afilalo. If you have any questions, email us at jonathan.afilalo@mcgill.ca.
What the app does
Frailty Tool is a questionnaire app that helps compute frailty-related scores from published clinical scales. It is an informational tool for research use only. It is not a medical device and does not replace professional medical advice.
The app does not use accounts, ads, or tracking, and it does not access your camera, microphone, contacts, location, photos, or files.
What stays on your device
Anything you type into the app — including questionnaire answers and an optional patient name or identifier — is kept only on your device while you use the app. The app also stores your language preference and a small interface setting locally. Uninstalling the app removes this data.
What the app sends over the internet
- Questionnaire content. The app downloads questions, scoring rules, and recommendations from our server over HTTPS. The app does not send any patient information to our server.
- PDF sharing. If you choose to export a PDF of your results, the app creates the PDF on your device and opens your device's share sheet so you can send it where you want. The app itself does not send the PDF anywhere.
- Crash reports If the app crashes or hits an error, a technical report is sent to Sentry to help us fix bugs. It includes the error, device model, operating system, app version, and a Sentry-generated identifier. It does not intentionally include your answers or patient information. See sentry.io/privacy for details.
All network traffic uses HTTPS.
Children
The app is intended for adult and clinical use and is not directed at children.
Your rights
You can contact us at jonathan.afilalo@mcgill.ca to ask about your data privacy. Because the app does not upload or backup your data, uninstalling it or clearing its storage will delete that data permanently.
Changes
If we update this policy, we will change the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, show a notice in the app.
